Cranbrook Park Bowling Club                 1912 - 2013

We are delighted to inherit this beauutiful building, built before the First World War.

It has been an important part of local life for generations of bowls players in Valentines Park and we will proudly keep the winners board on the wall inside, with a small display of memorabilia.

The centre will be delighted to welcome back any former members of the Bowling Club, and our resident local radio station, East London Radio, are planning to record chats in the centre or elsewhere with anyone previously or still playing bowls anywhere in East London, to contribute to a radio programme which will be completed and broadcast online by the end of 2015.

We'll have more about the rich history of the Bowling club on this page during 2015.

If you would like to contribute to this or the radio programme, please email

We have received some generous funding which means we will be able to adapt the building with full disabled access, including toilet facilities.

We have now signed contracts with the council to commence our lease of The Cranbrook Centre, which will last until at least 2021.

We hope to open in October
